A first Beta of our app will be released next week
Next week we will release a first Beta of our new desktop and mobile application for automated call initiation. The application, which is called SpeapCall, will be available for Microsoft Windows desktop computers and Symbian S60 SmartPhones at first.
The application enables you to simply initiate a call by only entering the desired phone number and press the call button, even when you are not in reach of a local dial-in number or you do want to use call-back out of other reasons.
Currently the application uses our XMLRPC API to initiate calls or other functions, which means the application needs an Internet connection. Sure, no problem on desktop computers, but it could be a problem on mobiles where using an internet connection costs more than the following call over Speap. Therefore an alternate call initiation method for the mobile edition of our app will be implemented in an upcoming major release, where special SMS services will be usable.
The next steps for the development will be: German localization, currently the app is only available in English, and the availability for Android and iPhone.
If you want to participate as a Beta tester, create an account on Speap and download the latest release for your platform.
