Initiate a call-back out of the contacts in your mobile phone
It is always a good thing to see business owners or operators use their own products and services. So we do. But there was always a thing we did not like while using our own service: Calling contacts stored in a mobile phone using this mobile phone. Even if PIN authentication is disabled and the phone number of the mobile phone is the registered Caller-ID you have to type in the phone number of your contact, or at least the number of the phone book entry.
Well, problem solved; we want to introduce a new feature, Speap.To.
Every current mobile phone enables its user to store URL's as a website or homepage of a contact in its phone book. That's what we used to solve the above mentioned problem.
When you are signed in into your account your access codes will now contain a special Speap. To URL which could be used to initiate a call-back to a given phone book entry or full phone number. Simply store this Speap. To URL into a contact in your mobile phone as a website URL. Done.
To call this contact (in your mobile phone using your mobile phone) you simply open the Speap. To URL stored in the contact's profile. Our servers will initiate the call-back and the resulting web page simply contains "Ok" as the reply and a small snippet of JavaScript which tries to close the current browser, which would the mobile phone let release the internet connection.
Certainly the Speap. To URL works on computers using any browser too.
Currently we are testing a little registry file for Microsoft Windows which registers a Speap. To URL as "callto"-Handler on the initiating computer. This would enable you to store a link (e.g. on your desktop) containing the command "callto:001604PHONENUMBER" which would initiate a call-back to this number if executed (beside all other features of "callto"-URL's).
Everyone who is interested in testing this registry file are invited to contact us.
Happy calling.
